ABOUT CBC SENIORS

Seniors Group was commenced at Caringbah Baptist Church in the late 1980′s and was the brain child of Ron and Norma Hanson as they felt there was a great need to Reach out and accommodate people over the age of fifty five.

ACTIVITIES

Over the many years the group has met on the second Friday of every month for “Seniors Lunch” (everyone brings a plate of food to share) followed sometimes by a special speaker and always playing indoor bowls, board games or some just chatting, i.e. it is a great time of fun and fellowship.

Special birthdays such as the big ‘O’s are also celebrated by specially catered lunches. We are yet to celebrate a 100th birthday but have celebrated the ninetieth birthday of Sid and Gwen Street, Jean Baskerville, Alan Innes-Brown and Percy Clisdell.

Over the years there have been times when a group of seniors have holidayed away for up to a week and these include Mt Victoria, Thredbo, Jindabyne, Lake Cathie, Nelsons Bay and everyone has enjoyed a great time of fellowship.
